Help GardenShare Celebrate our Community Food Heroes
Now accepting submissions through Sunday, December 6, 2020.
Every year, GardenShare honors an individual or organization that is making strides toward a more just food system in St. Lawrence County with the Growing Community Award and Social. The world looks very different this year so GardenShare is putting the Growing Community Award on hold to honor the community in a new way. So many individuals have stepped up to do the challenging work of making sure people continue to have access to food throughout these uncertain times and we want to hear all about them!
This year, GardenShare wants YOU to help us celebrate our Community Food Heroes by sending us a short video highlighting someone who you think embodies the role of Community Food Hero.
This might be someone who...
- taught a friend how to make preserves
- organized food distribution programs
- kept the community informed about food resources
- taught students about local food
- volunteered at a farmers market or food pantry
- raised money for a local food charity
- or supported or strengthened the food system in St. Lawrence County in some way during 2020
These videos will be gathered and shared on our website and social media from January 18-22, 2021 during our digital celebration of Community Food Heroes.
Videos must be less than 2 minutes long and include...
- Your name
- Your hero's name
- Why you think they are a Community Food Hero
Videos can be sent to us via Facebook messenger, Instagram DM, or as an email attachment to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have a Google Account/Gmail you can also upload your video directly into our submission form.
We would love to receive as many video submissions as we can but we realize that that may not be the best option for everyone. If, for any reason, you do not feel comfortable filming a video or you would like to remain anonymous, you are welcome to celebrate your hero with words using our submission form.
Submitting your contact information is optional but know that we will only use it if we have a question about your submission.
If you have any questions or any difficulties submitting your video, don't hesitate to reach out! We are happy to help! Give us a call in the office at (315) 261-8054 or send an email to email@example.com.
This event is not a competition; there will be no winners. We simply want to give our community a chance to offer heartfelt thanks to the often unsung heroes that help keep us fed.
