The Role of Adirondack North Country Foods in Community & Economic Development
GardenShare is co-sponsor of the upcoming conference, The Role of Adirondack
North Country Foods in Community & Economic Development to be held on April
18th, 2008 at the W!LD Center in Tupper Lake, NY. The event is a one day
conference of the North Country Regional Foods Initiative, a project of Cornell
Cooperative Extension and the Community & Rural Development Institute at Cornell
University. It will provide participants with an opportunity to examine the ways
local/regional foods contribute to community and economic development and learn
how communities are supporting and capitalizing on local food initiatives. As
well participants will engage in lively discussions related to policy, research
and strategies that support and enhance consumer and institutional connections
with local foods and the farmers and entrepreneurs who produce and process
