NOFA-NY North County CSA Gathering Canceled

The North Country CSA Gathering scheduled for Saturday, March 1 at North Country Community College in Malone, NY has been canceled due to winter weather. We would like to thank everyone who expressed interest in participating in this gathering. The Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York (NOFA-NY) will be continuing its work in Northern NY and other regions to develop a statewide support network for Community Supported Agriculture farms.

NOFA-NY will be in dialogue with farmers and our co-sponsors for this event, Garden Share and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Franklin County, to discuss how to proceed in developing the CSA support network in Northern NY. We welcome your feedback. Please contact Abby Youngblood at csaproject@nofany.org or by phone at 347-445-2384 if you have suggestions or ideas.

Upcoming CSA gatherings are planned for March 9 in Ithaca and for March 15 on Long Island. To learn more about these gatherings and the CSA Network project at NOFA-NY, please go to www.nofany.org.

The Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York is a non-profit educational organization made up of consumers, gardeners, and farmers who are working to create a sustainable regional food system that is ecologically sound and economically viable. In addition to the new CSA Network, NOFA-NY hosts a yearly conference on organic farming and gardening, produces the Organic Food Guide to help consumers find healthy, local food and farm products, and engages in education and demonstration to promote land stewardship, organic food production, and local marketing. NOFA-NY was founded in 1983 and currently has over 1,600 members, including gardeners, consumers and more than 850 farms.
