Local Food Guide

The 2011 Local Food Guide is now available.

The 2011 Local Food Guide for St. Lawrence County is now available free from GardenShare.

This annual publication is the food lover's most complete source for finding the delicious food raised and produced in St. Lawrence County, New York.

GardenShare's full-color 2011 Local Food Guide lists more than 60 outlets where shoppers can buy fresh vegetables, apples, berries, cheese, milk, yogurt, honey, maple products, meat, poultry, and eggs.

Included are farmers' markets, farm stands, U-pick farms, orchards, and organic farms, plus stores that showcase local food.

The guide also describes a variety of programs that help make local food accessible and affordable to all, from free veggie coupons for nursing moms to shuttle buses that bring seniors to the farmers' market. The guide also notes which farmers' markets accept EBT/SNAP cards.
